Newborn FAQs

Q. Who should come to the photo shoot?
A. To create a stress free environment we recommend parents and child. If both parents can not be there, that’s fine. We definitely don’t recommend grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc...It creates chaos. We like the shooting environment to be quiet.

Q. What should my baby wear for the photo shoot?
A. Bring the babies normal essentials. A blanket, some clean diapers and bottles just in case we run into feeding time. Don’t worry about clothes.

Q. How many pictures will be taken.
A. As many shots needed to capture your child’s portrait.

Q. How and when will I view my pictures?
A. Your pictures will be ready to view one week after the session. They will be presented to you on the computer.

Q. Do I have to have a birth announcement created from the images.
A. No. A birth announcement is just one of the many creative options available to you. We encourage parents to become a part of the creative process.

Maternity FAQS

Q. When is the best time to get my maternity portrait taken?
A. Please schedule your session for the end of your 7th month.

Q. Who will be taking my photo?
A. Ken will be taking all the pictures. One of his female creative directors will also be present to help with the shoot.

Q. How should I dress?
A. Clothing should be a solid color. Classic pure black and white undergarments work best. We will always experiment with fabric and lighting and encourage women to bring any props or fabric that they would like to use. Avoid anything with elastic that will leave marks across your belly.

Q. Can I bring my children to the shoot?
A. Having a child be part of the photo shoot is a wonderful idea.

Q. How long does the photo session take?
A. A photo shoot usually lasts about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. We don’t stop shooting until we feel we have captured images that you will cherish forever.

Q. Should I wear make-up and style my hair?
A. Yes! Make-up is important, but not necessary.

Q. Should I bring my partner to the session?
A. If you want to capture images together than definitely. If he is coming for moral support, you may want to reconsider. We feel it’s best to come by yourself so we can make you feel as comfortable as possible.

Q. How and when will I view my pictures?
A. Your pictures will be ready to view one week after the session. They will be presented to you on the computer.

Q. If I get pictures taken by you, will they end up on your site or in other promotional materials?
A. No, not without written permission from you.
